Brookfield Properties has unveiled its plans to redevelop the top six floors of the Macy’s flagship at 24 E. Washington St. as office space. With floorplates as large as 130,000 square feet, the office component at the onetime Marshall Field & Company building will total 650,000 square feet.
In 2018, Brookfield purchased the top six floors from Macy’s, which has owned the 126-year-old landmark building since 2006. Macy’s will continue to operate its flagship store on the building’s first seven floors.
