The Harbor Holiday Afloat Parade had a large turnout this year, with 40 crafts — including yachts, small fishing boats, speed boats, sail boats and LA Fire and Port Police vessels — participating in the annual tradition.
Throngs of spectators lined the waterfront last weekend to enjoy the boat parade.
A much-larger participation this year came from Wilmington, Rivas said, as younger residents and families there joined in the festivities with their boats.
It also was canceled during the recent coronavirus pandemic.
But the popular event returned in 2022 and this year’s parade drew large crowds to the site of what will be San Pedro’s future waterfront attraction, West Harbor Los Angeles, set to open in 2025.
