Newport Beach-based Landsea Homes will expand into Florida and Texas with its planned $55 million purchase of Vintage Estate Homes.
The deal with the builder based in Melbourne, Fla., is expected to close next month. It would give fast-growing Landsea control of 1,815 lots and 405 contracts to sell homes to be completed in such markets as Orlando, Melbourne, Austin and San Antonio. Landsea plans to operate Vintage with much of its current staff.
At year-end 2020, Landsea controlled 4,864 lots in Arizona where it has an order backlog of 508 residences. Much of that inventory comes from last year’s purchase of Garrett Walker Homes, a Phoenix-based builder.
In California, Landsea had 1,766 lots and 242 homes in its construction pipeline at year’s end. It just announced plans to build in 187 new homes in Anaheim and San Juan Capistrano.
