Hoag Hospital Irvine (HHI) in Irvine, California, has unveiled its new 17,000-square-foot Benjamin & Carmela Du Emergency Pavilion, according to a release from a representative of HHI. The pavilion is described as a “state-of-the-art Emergency Department (ED)” that expands the original facility to nearly five times its size.
According to the release, the patient-centered design of the new ED offers the community greater access to emergency care, an enhanced patient experience, and increased care for complex patient conditions. The statement says the ED expanded by 13,500 square feet, which is now open to the public. The original 3,600-square-foot ED space will also undergo a renovation, with project completion expected in early 2019.
