On Nov. 21, RH (formerly Restoration Hardware) opened the doors of its new four-story gallery at Fashion Island to the Orange County community for a one-night preview.

Nearly 100,000 square feet, the store will be RH’s only design gallery in OC and its largest in the U.S.

The multilevel structure has the traditional exhibition spaces of furniture, lighting and textile products in addition to outdoor terraces with ocean views, two wine bars and a rooftop restaurant that can accommodate 260. The upper floors are accessed by a grand double floating staircase.

1,500 people were in attendance. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Hoag Hospital Foundation and its $300 million Boldly Hoag campaign dedicated to its Irvine campus expansion.

“The company was looking for a partner that would match the elevated brand that RH is in Newport Beach,” President Caroline Pereira told the Business Journal. “Hoag has long been the healthcare brand of Orange County. It felt like a good match.”

RH has not yet revealed an opening date for the gallery. It is among almost 30 new or relocated brands at the Fashion Island shopping center this year.
