A Newport Beach hospital is taking cancer treatment to a new level, thanks to a $9 million donation from a best-selling Orange County author.
Dean Koontz and his wife, Gerda, have committed the donation to Hoag Hospital for the purchase of the world’s first ever MRI-guided radiation treatment system, enabling oncologists to live stream a tumor or other target for radiation and surrounding organs in real time.
