Builders’ rush to catch up with house hunters’ voracious appetites continues in Rancho Mission Viejo, where developers have announced the next slate of builders for 673 homes.

What will eventually be the 2,700-home Rienda community in south Orange County’s foothills won’t be ready for sales until next year. The pandemic-fueled buying binge fueled a sell-out in the neighboring 2,776-home Esencia. Those final sales came four to six months ahead of schedule, so Rancho Mission Viejo, for now, has no homes on the market.
